Amanda Wu, bass

Amanda Wu is currently an undergraduate student at UC Davis and working toward her BA in music. She has been involved in instrumental music ever since the first time she sat down on a piano bench at the age of 7. Throughout the years she also became interested in orchestral music, studying violin, then switching to string bass a couple years later, under the instruction of Heidi Dahms. She is now entering her third year with the UCDSO and studying bass with Tom Derthick. She is also involved in the UCD Baroque Ensemble and UCD Jazz Improv Combo. Outside of orchestra, she can be found watching movies, laughing about anything and everything, and sitting in the hallways of the music department working on a sudoku.
