John Unrath is John Unrath is a PhD student in the Psychology Department researching
psychology of religion. He completed his undergraduate degree in 2006
at Valparaiso University where he majored in psychology, theology, and
music, and completed a Master of Philosophy in 2007 at the University of
Cambridge studying psychology of religion.
Having started his undergraduate degree as a trombone performance major,
John played principle trombone with the Valparaiso University Symphony
Orchestra for 4 years, performing in various venues throughout the
Northeastern and Midwestern United States and the United Kingdom. He
most recently played principle trombone with the Zephyr Wind Ensemble of
the Cambridge University Musical Society as well as with the St.
Margaret Society of Queens' College and the Trinity College Musical Society.
John previously studied trombone with Brian Opdahl and Richard Watson,
and is currently in the studio of Bruce Chrisp. He looks forward to
working with the UCDSO in this and the coming years.
