Tao He, viola

Tao He is a senior studying Mechanical Engineering. He joined the UCDSO in Fall 2005. He started playing violin at Sutter Middle School in Sacramento and studied violin with Dong Ho.  He volunteered to play viola in his senior year in high school due to a shortage in that section. He chose viola over violin soon after because he can actually sing in the viola register (violin was too high-pitched). He also plays in the UC Davis chamber ensembles and with The Cut-Time Quartet in Sacramento. He hopes to continue his music career after graduation. He will be an engineer by day and violist by night.
