James Chitwood, viola

James Chitwood is currently a candidate for an MS in Animal Biology at UCD and has been playing in the UCDSO since the 2003/04 season. Growing up in Modesto, he had the great fortune of being taught viola technique by Rick Paderes. James received his undergraduate BS in Genetics from UCD as well and never got around to leaving town. When he is not studying fat mice as a genetic model for human obesity, he greatly enjoys listening and adding to an ever growing classical record collection that threatens the spatial limitations of his tiny apartment while acoustically angering adjacent neighbors who don't understand that "it just sounds better on vinyl."
