Clairelee Leiser Bulkley Violin I

Clairelee Bulkley has been a member of the UCDSO since 1960/61, when she spent  a year at UCD; she was concert master of this early group. She was a recreation management major at UCLA, minoring in music. After graduating she worked for the US Army in Germany as a program/entertainment director for two years.

She returned to the USA / got married / taught school (PE) for 30 years for the Woodland Joint Unified School District before retiring; She and her husband Ralph have a rice and tomato farm in the Sutter Basin area.

Besides playing in the UCDSO, her other favorite activity is traveling, which has taken her to every continent, some more than once. (It is rumored that she was once evacuated for appendicitis from the Himalayas on an elephant.) And it is a fact that when in junior high school, she was the California state YO-YO Champion for two years in a row!
