Jonathan Anderson is currently a Master's student in Electrical Engineering at UC Davis, focusing on signal processing and applied mathematics. Additionally, he is finishing his undergraduate work in Music performance under the instruction of Pete Nowlen and will soon be auditioning for admission to leading American conservatories. Anderson has been principal of the UC Davis Symphony for several seasons.

Recently, he attended the Summer Brass Institute in Menlo Park, with faculty members Gene Pokorny (principal tuba of the Chicago Symphony), Chris Martin (principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony), members of the San Francisco Symphony, and members of the Bay Brass. He also attended the CALCAP Chamber Music Workshop at CSU Sacramento under the leadership of Pete Nowlen. In earlier years he was a member of the Sacramento Premier Youth Symphony, CODA Honor Orchestra, CMEA All-State Wind Ensemble, CPQ Brass Quintet, and CSU Sacramento Symphony.   

Anderson is a member of the UC Davis Triathlon Team, Cycling Team, and Mad Cows Triathlon team and enjoys staying active in recreational sports. He loves outdoor activities and really enjoys sitcoms and good movies.
