My research on the life and works of Hector Berlioz (180369) led in due course to my research on the history of the Société des Concerts du Conservatoire (the Paris Conservatory Orchestra), which appeared in book form in 2004. (The website is linked above.) My other academic interests have recently focused on the use of technology in instruction and research; the textbook and multi-media package Masterworks appeared in 1998, with a second edition in 2001 and UCDavis-specific editions in 2005 and 2006.
At the moment I am working on a biography of the French condutor, Charles Munch (1891-1968).
